Happiness and Kindness…

When you are happy with yourself, you are happy with others.

Sandra Scala – The Mind, Untangled.

It’s not about being happy for others. It’s about making sure you are happy with yourself, and WITH others – including WHO you are, who you surround yourself with, and what you are doing! ❤️

YOU are YOU!

Here is some MOTIVATION for those who are struggling – be YOU, and as long as you are kind, compassionate, loving – that’s what counts!

imagine …

“You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one…”
Imagine – John Lennon

I know for sure I am not the only dreamer in this world of ours, as time keeps moving forward, and changes rapidly occur.

But just imagine, if there was peace.

Imagine we could live in a world where there was no worry about what other people thought or said, or what type of clothes we wore, or what kind of house we lived in, etc. etc…

Imagine, if there was no hatred.
Imagine, if there was no poverty.
Imagine, if there was no starvation.
Imagine, if there was no mental health issues.
Imagine, if there was no judgement.
Imagine, if there was no criticism.
Imagine, if there was no violence.
Imagine, if we were all treated equally.

This world would be a pretty amazing place, wouldn’t it?!

All we can do is hope for a better world, but it doesn’t stop there. We can HELP contribute to making it a better place to be. Lend a helping hand. Don’t be judgemental. And, show kindness and compassion.

Let’s think for a second and picture your life as a pair of shoes. The pair of shoes is your life – you want your life to be comfortable and secure.

You don’t want blisters on your feet, or holes in your shoes.
You want the shoes to stay as comfortable and clean as they can, for as long as they can.

It’s the same as your life – you want a life with comfort, filled with love and happiness – no drama, no hurt, no pain. This is ideal; however, the reality is, we all endure some kind of “blister” in our lifetime. What we need to realize though, is that we just need to put a “band-aid” on, protect ourselves, and take care of ourselves. We need to make sure we heal, so that we can experience the good in life with the people we love.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: You need to be comfortable with WHO you are, what you are doing, and who you surround yourself with. It’s about facing the tough decisions, the hurt, the pain. It’s not about how much you have or what you have. It’s about being thankful for all the little things. Show love, kindness, and gratitude because without them, the pair of shoes are going to get worn out, and all that will be left, are blisters. Take care of YOU. ❤️

Every little bit helps …

All it takes, is for someone to feel that they are worthless, to be in this kind of situation, or worse…

The demons in their minds take over, and all of a sudden, they are in a dark, cold spot, where they thought they would never be.

For the fortunate ones – what would happen if this was you in a similar situation?

A couple of years ago, we took the girls to Niagara Falls, Ontario.
There, we came across 2 homeless people, one was in a wheelchair.
My girls asked, “Why are they homeless?”
I explained to them that everyone goes through rough times in their lives.
I said that we don’t know what happened, but there’s no reason why we can’t help.

It was one of the coldest nights, New Year’s Eve, of 2017, going into 2018,
and so we got each of them a hot chocolate.
It’s something small, but it’s something we wanted to do for them.

Every little bit helps.

We as a society, should help people when in need.
Why are there so many homeless? Starving?
Why is there so much poverty?
Substance Abuse? Suicide?

For those suffering in pain and alone, have faith.
Find courage, and keep pushing forward.
Find someone who you trust will help you and bring back your light,
who will help you find your strength.

You are not alone…there are people out there who are kind and compassionate. There are people who will help…

Let’s try to make a difference, today, by helping those in need. ❤️

A True Friend

A friend is not someone who laughs at a decision you’ve made.
A friend is not someone who only calls when they want something.
A friend is not someone who will judge you.
And a friend is definitely not someone who will do things behind your back, creating unnecessary issues, causing hurtful outcomes.

A true friend, however, is someone who wants to, and chooses to, stick by you no matter what happens.
A true friend, is someone who realizes that no one is perfect, and will comfort you through the difficult times.
A true friend will understand when enough is enough, and when the right time is to either offer their support, or keep their distance.

A true friend, will confront you when they have issues.
They will not hide, nor will they be secretive or vindictive.
They will not turn a situation around in order to make themselves feel better.
They will not put you down in order to achieve an inner feeling of power.
That inner feeling they thrive on is the kind that initiates intimidating actions.

Friends don’t do that to each other; rather, they show honesty and respect.
They accept changes in and around their lives, even if that means losing a friendship.
By accepting change, it creates peace and happiness.
