In the world of Social Media…

It seems like a very long time since I have untangled my mind, and set it free, in the blogging community. I guess that’s because I have been busy with Tik Tok Videos and Cooking and all that fun stuff! If you haven’t yet, check out my YouTube Channel and subscribe to watch some of my crazy ideas!! It’s fun! It’s a little bit of everything. It’s ME!!

The reason why I am writing this today, is because a friend of mine, Adam, whom I met through the Crypto (XRP) Blogging Community, wrote an interesting article which I would like to share here (Instagram Influencers – are they useful?). It’s a FANTASTIC article and a lot of great points were made. I encourage you to read it!

A few years ago, I started The Mind, Untangled., in hopes to help motivate people and inspire them to keep pushing forward, even through the dark times. I’ve done some speeches, some interviews, and have helped many people privately! If you have read my story, you know what I have been through in my past and also what I continue to struggle with on a daily basis. You can find my story on my home page.

Truth be told, my anxieties have lessened incredibly and I am blessed to have an amazing support system which consists of my family and a few selected friends. But now, when I talk about Social Media, I find that I have new friends who I can count on. I have my Tik Tok Family. My FaceBook (FB) Family. Not on The Mind, Untangled., but my personal page for FB – why? Because times have changed. I feel that people relied on my posts on The Mind, Untangled. FB for motivation. During the past year and a half, the motivation I tried to provide did not seem to reach out to people, so I took a break – I felt that because I couldn’t reach out to people, it tangled my mind on what to share. I shut down my Instagram Account. And I also shut down my Twitter account. BUT, recently, I reconnected to all but Instagram. Why, you ask? Because of various reasons.

You see, I never was an Influencer to try to gain popularity or make a profit. In my mind, I wanted to share with people the real struggles through my writing, my speaking, my videos. And if you read Adam’s article, the one part that really sticks out to me is this…

“What did I learn?”

I absolutely believe at this point that 100 enthusiastic hardcore customers is way more important than a 1000 normal customers.

You recruit those 100 enthusiastic customers by solving a problem they’re having…. I have solutions, but my mission for next week is to figure out how to find the people whose problems I can solve.

I think it comes down to a brand representative becoming an expert or the Go To person in a particular niche and interacting with that niche’s community. People talk about a personal brand being more important than a company’s brand and I’m honestly starting to believe it.

– Adam Waring

You see, when it’s personal, people gravitate towards you. When you can help people, when you can “sell” who you are or what your product is, people will want to come back, to YOU. But when you push, push, push – people don’t like that.

I don’t want to push people to read my articles. I want people to be interested in what I have to say, or what I am doing. I don’t care about the 100 likes or the thousands of followers. If I have helped that one person to make it to the next day, then I am satisfied. If I have made people laugh and forget about what they are going through for just one day, then that’s what makes me happy. You know what I mean?

And that is why I have reconnected some of my Social Media Accounts. Because if there are new followers who are looking for some kind of inspiration, they can go through my posts. On my personal FB page, I share all of my videos from Tik Tok – why? Because I am putting smiles on my family and friends’ faces. It may not be 500 of them, maybe a handful or maybe two. But it doesn’t matter…I’ve made someone smile. As for Twitter, I have missed my Crypto family…I haven’t been supportive of them as I once did, I admit that, but we can all agree that these times have changed our views on Social Media as well as the fact that we all have lives to live which keep us busy. But I also know that, within the blogging community – WordPress and Coil – we can all understand and appreciate that there will be times when we do not want to or have the energy to blog. We can all understand that it is hard sometimes to keep up with all of the different platforms, and comments.

All we can do, is try our best…

Social Media has turned to be a huge role in our lives today, since COVID-19 happened. I turned to videos because it makes me happy. It gives me a little something extra to do to be creative. It really did open a door to express my creativity. Some people like it, some people don’t. But it gives me an inner sense of relief, peace, and happiness. And that’s a bonus…

As I’ve said earlier, I have had to cut back on some social media avenues, but that is because of my own sanity. It’s hard trying to keep up with it all, especially with the obligations and priorities I have in my daily life. My family, my friends – the people on FB, Twitter, and Tik Tok – they have kept me motivated to keep doing these silly videos and the odd motivational videos. It’s not about competition for me – the world is a big place, and the world is my oyster!!

Why not give it a go?!

Below are a few examples of what I’ve done, if you haven’t seen already…

COOKING, which can be as short as this:

Or more in detail, like this:

The point is, whether I post happy, sad, crazy, useful, or whatever type of video, there will always be something out there for someone. Algorithms are so off the wall these days, but that’s OK. It’s the people I care about and the people who have interacted with me – that is why I am continuing to do what I do. I don’t push people to buy my book. If they are interested, they can ask me.

I share, and that’s it.
I comment, and that’s it.
I read, and that’s it.
I watch, and that’s it.

All in what interests me and what is going on in my life at this present moment.

I’ve got a busy life here with five teenagers in the house doing online school. I’ve got the house to maintain and I have to keep my family safe. And happy. Sometimes I don’t have time to write and do videos. And that’s OKAY!!

I am now finally writing my book. With the help of an editor/publisher. I am finally on my way to doing what I have wanted to do for so many years. And I am excited! Perhaps that is why I decided to write today – the motivation to have something wonderful to look forward to – the kids are with their other parent. My husband is working. It’s quiet…and my mind needed to do some untangling!

I hope you all have a wonderful day, and week! If you have any ideas or comments, PLEASE feel free to share!

Sandra ❤️

P.S. Don’t let Social Media tangle your mind. Do what you need to do to get yourself out there. Do what you need to do to keep pushing forward, and just take it one day at a time! We’re all in this together!!
