She is a woman.
A wife. A mother.
And so much more.
She is one who has dedicated her time and energy towards her family, her work, and so much more. She is my cousin, my “second” mom. And she is beautiful.
She found out a few months ago, that she has cancer. Two types of cancer that she has been viciously fighting. I held the phone in my hand that time I found out, as I called her, and cried with her. And then, I cried with my mom. I was devastated.
BUT, this beautiful soul right here – she found the strength, the courage, and the belief in herself, to keep living life.
She found beauty within, to keep on smiling and staying positive for the people she loves. She hopes for a future for many years to come, so that she can not only watch her grandson grow into a fine young man, but experience life’s moments and treasures.
She is proof that anyone can find the path to acceptance, and gratitude. And appreciation. For the life she has now. And for years to come.
She is Mary. And I am so blessed to have her in my life, as someone I can look up to in awe with love.
For those who have loved ones dealing with cancer, or are going through it themselves, be strong. Have courage, strength, love, beauty…..be a rock and hold your ground. Don’t ever give up hope!! ❤️
